Holiday Pre-Postcard

Happy Holidays!
And welcome to my newly created, super fancy, supposedly kid simple blog! Let's see how this turns out, shall we?
As this is a holiday pre-postcard I shall stay within the perameters:
I just finished semester number 5 at Whitman College in the wonderful Walla Walla, WA. It was a fabulous semester filled with lots of outdoor adventures, many old and new, but equally good friends, as well as bits of learning here and there. I am more than halfway finished with my college career and, on track with that, my Spanish major and Geology minor.
Things of note this semester: I got to take a trip with the geology department to Mt St Helen's! It was a truly incredible trip; I got to army crawl to the end of the longest lava tube segment in the world! What more can I say?
I also learned how to rock climb, a first for me. It is an exhilarating sport, at which I am horrendous, but I love it just the same!
But most importantly, this semester I was accepted by the CIEE Liberal Arts program in Alicante, Spain for study abroad next semester!

Which is a nice lead in for: Why write a blog?
I would love to think that, while I'm abroad, I could write postcards* and letters to each and every person I love. Yeeeeaaa, not gonna happen. But this way I can write a collective postcard and everyone can see it! And you can all see photos too! The internet is so COOL!
*I still intend to hand write individual postcards as well.

I leave on January 13th, so stay tuned!
